Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ young hero will search for Zeus’ master lightning bolt when the live-action Disney+ series arrives this December.
On Tuesday, the streamer unveiled a new trailer — which you can check out above — teasing Percy Jackson’s cross-country quest to retrieve the stolen weapon. The preview also offers a glimpse at the show’s all-star ensemble, including the late Lance Reddick (who died in March) as Zeus and Adam Copeland (aka WWE’s Edge) as Ares.

Adapted from Rick Riordan’s bestselling book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the fantastical story of Percy Jackson (played by The Adam Project’s Walker Scobell), a 12-year-old modern demigod who’s just coming to terms with his divine powers when he is tasked with finding the missing lightning bolt.
With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth (played by Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime and hopefully restore order to Olympus.
The first two episodes will debut on Wednesday, Dec. 20, with new episodes streaming weekly.
The cast also includes guest stars Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Megan Mullally as Alecto aka Mrs. Dodds, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus aka Mr. D, Jay Duplass as Hades, Glynn Turman as Chiron aka Mr. Brunner, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Medusa, Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, Suzanne Cryer as Echidna, Timm Sharp as Gabe Ugliano and Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus.
Riordan and Jon Steinberg (Black Sails, Jericho) wrote the first two episodes, directed by James Bobin (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Muppets Most Wanted).
