What did President Joe Biden think of Donald Trump’s arrest photo taken Thursday?
“Handsome guy, wonderful guy,” Biden told reporters, appearing to make light of his predecessor’s booking at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. When Trump surrendered in Georgia to face charges of trying to overturn Biden’s 2020 election win, he became the first president to have a mug shot taken.
“I did see it on television,” Biden responded when asked about it while he was vacationing in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The Georgia indictment was the latest of four criminal cases brought against the former president, including separate federal charges of election fraud, other federal charges accusing him of mishandling classified information and accusations of falsifying business records.
Biden has largely avoided weighing in on the indictments against Trump, who is the frontrunner in a large field of Republicans vying to challenge the Democratic president in November 2024.
