These are strange times for Kimberly Guilfoyle, who may be getting a new job while losing a boyfriend.
On Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump officially nominated the former Fox News personality and political fundraiser as his ambassador to Greece.
In an announcement on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that Guilfoyle’s “extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad.”
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Guilfoyle accepted the nomination and said she looks forward “to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity.”
But the announcement came at an awkward time.
Although Guilfoyle and Donald Trump Jr. have been dating since 2018 and became engaged in 2020, news of her nomination broke on the same day that various outlets reported that he has recently been seen holding hands with Florida socialite Bettina Anderson.
The couple have apparently not called off their engagement, but sources close to them told People that Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. have spent a lot of time apart in recent months and that he’s seeing Anderson on the side.
Of course, people on social media keyed into the drama.
